Become a PTA Member
Why join the PTA?
-
To be part of a network of families, educators, and community members who advocate for our students.
-
To give your student access to PTA-sponsored after-school programs, as well as the opportunity to participate in events such as the spelling bee and science fair.
-
To support your student's experience at Poplar Tree and help make our school the best it can be for all students, teachers, staff, and families! PTA funding benefits all students by supporting school assemblies and author visits, technology in classrooms, house shirts for all students, supplies for specials classes, and more!
A full year's membership for any size family remains at $30 this year and your donation is tax deductible. Financial assistance is available for PTA memberships; please contact the Poplar Tree school counselor.
Your membership dollars and all of our fundraising dollars go directly back into the school to support your student's experience. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run by volunteers, the Poplar Tree PTA provides funding and support including:
-
School enhancements for all: School budgets don’t cover everything teachers and staff need to create an amazing learning experience for our students. The PTA offers classroom supply reimbursements to teachers; grants for art, music, and special programs; building improvements; software for all students; technology for classrooms; and more!
-
Student opportunities: We provide ways to for students to grow their skills and develop new interests through the spelling bee and science fair, as well as before/after school classes. These programs are sponsored and coordinated by the PTA and are a special benefit to our current PTA members.
-
Family events: We create events that bring our community together, such as the Panther Prowl, Talent Show, and Block Party, as well as events for students such as assemblies and author visits.
-
Teacher and staff appreciation: We support and recognize teachers and staff with appreciation events throughout the year.
-
Volunteer coordination: Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your child’s experience, as well as contribute to the school. We coordinate everything from room parents to library volunteers to help with Friday folder copies to coordination of events and programs.
